It took 2 tries but we are finally here...

Well - our trip to Rochester didn't go smoothly but we are finally here and settled in for the night. And now we have another hotel story to laugh about.

When I made our hotel reservations, I thought I made them at the Country Inns and Suites we always stay at but when we arrived at the hotel, the front desk clerk couldn't find our reservation. When I showed him the printout of my reservation confirmation, he informed me we were at the wrong Country Inns and Suites (the road for both hotels have the same name - just one is on the east end and one is on the west end). Grrrr... The other hotel was about 10 minutes away so we loaded everything back in the car and off we went.

When we arrived at the other hotel, we were greeted by a large sign at the front desk that said their pool was out of order. I informed the front desk guy that the only reason we stayed in a hotel was so that our son could swim to take his mind off his doctors' appointments. He said that there was nothing he could do and that we couldn't cancel our reservation. We asked him to call the first hotel and see if they had any rooms available. He did but first he took a call from another customer and we overheard him tell them that they were overbooked by about 10 rooms (which will be valuable info when I fight to get my money back).

The first hotel did have a room so back to the car we went and loaded everything in for the third time today (and we don't travel light). The front desk clerk at our first hotel was so nice to us. He took $25 a night off the price for our trouble, gave Michael a bag of treats and little toys and let us take a swim in the pool even though it was after hours.

So, now we will try to get some sleep. We have to be at the hospital at 10 am and the MRI is at 11 am. As usual, Michael can't eat after midnight so Jeff went next store to Wendy's and got Michael some chicken nuggets and mandarin oranges for a bedtime snack. Hopefully they will be on schedule tomorrow and we won't have to wait hours like last time.

I don't know if we will have any results tomorrow but I will update when I get a chance. Our appointment with Dr. Korones is Thursday morning which is when we will get the official results. Please keep Michael in your thoughts and prayers, JoAnne

Hi JoAnne, wow it was really hard getting settled in. Glad that it turned out well in the end and it is my hopes that Michael's results will be great news also. I will continue to pray for your family. Deb
